Account > Deal Stages (Used in Opportunities module) Deal Stages are used to distinguish deals at different stages. For example "Prospecting" and "Signed contract" might be used for the preliminary and final stages, respectively, of a deal. Default deal stages are percentages from 5-100 at increments of 5. Deal stages can be modified and deleted to conform to suit the way your company categorizes deals. The deal stage is entered in the "Probability of closing" dropdown on the Create/edit Deal form To create a new Deal Stage: 1. Click on the Account tab. 2. Click on the "Create..." drop-down menu and select "Deal stage." 3. Name the deal stage. 4. Enter a number between 0 and 100 in the Percentage field. This value will be used for forecasting probability calculations 5. Indicate where the stage fits relative to other stages. 6. Enter any appropriate notes, and click "Save." To modify a Deal stage: 1. Click on the Account tab. 2. Click on the "Deal stages" link. 3. Click on the name of the Deal stage you want to change. 4. Make your changes in the "Edit deal stage" dialog. 5. Click on "Save." To delete a Deal stage: 1. Click on the Account tab. 2. Click on the Deal stages" link. 3. Click on the name of the Deal stage you want to delete. 4. Click on the "Delete" button in the "Edit deal stages" dialog. Note: You cannot delete a deal stage if there are any deals at that stage (the "Delete" button will not show up on the bottom of the "Edit deal stages" dialog). | ||
