Deals
.
A deal is a type of business proposition that you are working on with a prospect or an existing client. Within the deal you create todos and events that need to occur and have occurred, respectively, in order for you to close the deal. It is designed to help you keep track of potential business and business contacts.
.
When you create a deal, besides associating it to a prospect or client, you can also associate it to one or more of the contacts for that prospect or client. You can assign a territory to the deal - territories can be created in the Account tab. A territory is simply an arbitrary geographical designation that you may or may not wish to record for each of your deals. You can assign a rating to the deal - this could be an indicator of the importance of the deal. The Amount is the monetary amount the deal is worth to you - in other words, how much money your company would stand to make if the deal was closed. You can assign a stage to the deal by making a selection from the "probability of closing" dropdown, and also enter the projected closing date of the deal.
.
The Deals list will list all the deals that you have created. To view a particular deal, click on its name in the list. You will then see the deal in table format, with all its details, such as the primary contact. You can view the client or prospect, contacts, todos, and events associated with the deal by selecting the appropriate option from the links that appear above the "Edit Deal" dialog box.
.
To customize the Deal form , go to Opportunities > Deals > [select a deal] > Edit. Click the customize link at the bottom of the screen. Enter a message, hint or tip (HTML is accepted), select the location for the message and Save.
