.
You can bill your clients by the hour using a rate based on (1) the services you perform for your clients; (2) the specific client for whom you perform one or more services; (3) the user (employee) you assign to the client; (3) the particular client you are working for or project you are working on for that client; or (4) a particular project assigned to a particular user. Please note: To charge clients on an hourly basis, you must create an *Hourly* timebill (Invoices) or *Hourly* item (Proposals). Also note that whatever selection you make in the "Get the billing rate from" drop-down menu in your My Account > Company > Settings dialog will be applied to *every* client. You cannot currently select different billing rate settings on a per-client basis (e.g. by service for one client and by user for another client, etc.).
.
By Service:
.
Set different rates on an account-wide basis for each kind of service you perform for your clients.
.
Step One:
.
1. In the My Account module, click on the Company tab, and then on the "Settings" sub-tab.
.
2. Select "Service" in the "Get the billing rate from" drop-down menu near the bottom of the dialog. Click on "Save."
.
Step Two:
.
1. Click on the Account tab, then click on the "Create..." drop-down menu and select "service" (or for an existing service, go to "Account > Services," and click on the name of the service).
.
2. Enter the hourly rate you will charge for the service in the "Hourly rate" field. Click on "Save." (Note: You must repeat this step to enter an hourly rate for each service you have in your account.)

NEW: By Service/Client:
.
Set different rates for one or more services you perform based on the client for whom you will be working. (Note: Your clients will be charged the default rates for your services, as described in "By service" above, unless you specifically select each client and set a different rate in the "Service rates" dialog.)
.
IMPORTANT: You *must* select "Service/Client" in the Company > Settings dialog first, or the "Services rates" link will *not* appear as an option for setting up a new
client record (or modifying an exising client record).
.
Step One:
.
1. In the My Account module, click on the Company tab, and then on the "Settings" sub-tab.
.
2. Select "Service/Client" in the "Get the billing rate from" drop-down menu near the bottom of the dialog. Click on "Save."
.
Step Two:
.
1. Click on the "Account" tab, then click on the "Create..." drop-down menu and select "Client" (or for an existing client, go to "Account > Clients," and click on the name of the client).
.
2. For a new client (for an existing client, go to step 3): After filling out (or modifying) the "New/Edit client" dialog, click on "Save." You will then see two additional client dialog links, "Billing information" and "Service rates." (Note: You should fill out the "Billing information" dialog when you enter a new client record.)
.
3. Click on the "Service rates" link.
.
4. Use the drop-downs in the "Service rates" dialog to choose the services for which you will be charging a special rate for the selected client.
(Note: If the service you need was not previously created in the Account > Services field, it will not show up in the drop-down. You can create it by choosing "Service" in the "Create..." drop-down menu toward the right upper corner of the "Service rates" dialog window. If you use this option, however, you will have to re-navigate to the Account > Clients > [client name] > Service rates dialog to choose the new service and continue entering rate information.)
.
5. When you have entered the appropriate service rate information for the selected client, click on "Save."
.
6. The message "The client - [client name] was successfully saved" will appear at the top of the page, and you will have the option of clicking on another dialog link for the same client, or returning to the client list by clicking on the tabbed "Clients" link above the saved dialog.
