1. Run the Projects Connector, selecting to import a Microsoft® Project file into an existing OpenAir project.

2. Proceed through the import. After the Resource mapping dialog, click to finish the import.

3. You will be presented with a dialog box that asks: "Would you like to be able to update this project in the future from the changes you make to the Microsoft Project file? If yes, you will not be able to modify it online."

4. To lock the project in OpenAir, click "Yes." This allows you to make changes to the project plan in Microsoft® Project and then update the OpenAir project from those changes by doing another import.
    Hours worked, approved, billed, etc., for that project will be registered in OpenAir as usual, but project plan changes (project name, planned hours, assignments) can be made only by modifying the project in Microsoft® Project, and then doing an update through the OpenAir Projects Connector.

Unlocking a project in OpenAir

2. Proceed through the import. After the Resource mapping dialog, click to finish the import.

3. You will be presented with the same dialog referred to in the section on locking a project above, which asks: "Would you like to be able to update this project in the future from the changes you make to the Microsoft Project file? If yes, you will not be able to modify it online."
