The Reports tab
.
Reports give you a summary of your account activities within the Projects module.

1. Click on the "Reports" tab.
.
2. Select the type of report you want from the links under the "
Detail" or "Advanced" pages.

Advanced Reports for Projects:
.
These reports are pre-defined subject to your choices for data selection and presentation. Click on the "Advanced" link, and then on the relevant link for the report you want.

- Planned vs. actual hours
This report compares the planned hours to the actual hours worked and hours billed. It also shows the percent of each task that has been completed. The percentage reflects the estimate entered at the task level if there is one. If not, it is calculated as approved hours from timesheets divided by planned hours. Planned hours reflect either ingoing planned hours or any changes made from revised "hours remaining" estimates.

- Overbudget/late tasks
This report identifies all tasks that either have exceeded their budget or have gone beyond their end date without being completed.

- User tasks
This report lists all tasks by user indicating how clost they are to being completed.

The last three reports can be configured as specified:

- Financial analysis:
.
> Time period - choose a start date for the data or a date range
> Filters and layout options - select which data to include or exclude
> Other - choose to exclude expense item timebills and/or hourly timebills from the report; select a currency
.
Note: you can click on the name of a project in the report list to see the fully-detailed analysis for that project.

- Pricing analysis:
> Filters and layout options - select which data to include or exclude
> Time period - choose a start date for the data or a date range, and specify which information to total
> Other - select a currency, chose whether or not to group by customer, weight data by closing probability, and enable drilling into project and rate detail

- Project overview:
> Time period - choose a start date for the data or a date range
> Time - choose which timebills to include based on their timebill stage, and specify how to calculate the average billing rate.
      Simple rate = average rate on hourly timebills
       i.e. 2 slips: 100/hr and 50/hr, simple rate = 75/hr
      Weighted rate = total fees divided by total hours
       i.e. 2 slips: 1 hour at $100/hr, 40 hours at $50/hr
       (1*100)+(40*50) / 41, weighted rate= 51/hr
> Profitability - enter a descriptive scenario name and target profitability percentage, and choose which timebills to include based on timebills stage.
Note: There is a role-based option to turn off access to profitability figures in the overview report. To turn the profitability figures off for a particular role, navigate to Account > Roles > [select a Role] > Projects. Check the box to “Hide the profitability section in the project overview”. “View projects” and “View project overview” should also be checked. Users with this role will be able to see the project overview report, but not the profitability portion of the report.
> Other - select a currency

- Pending billings:
This report shows what billings would be generated if the project billing rules were run. It also permits you to run billing on individual projects, or across all projects.
> Time period - choose a date range or a start date for the data
> Filters - select which data to include or exclude by clicking the "create" or "edit" buttons and selecting the items to include from the list of available items or using the "find" search feature
> Other - if desired, check the box to "Hide projects with no pending billings", select a currency if necessary, and check the "Save this report as ..." box and name the report if you want to save it.
>If there are pending billings, the project name is hyperlinked and you can click on it to view and create billing transactions for the project. Alternatively, a link at the bottom of the report results lets you create all billing transactions across all projects, with one click.

- Pending recognition:
This report shows what recognition transactions would be generated if the project recognition rules were run.It also permits you to recognize revenue on individual projects or across all projects.
> Time period - choose a date range or a start date for the data
> Filters - select which data to include or exclude by clicking the "create" or "edit" buttons and selecting the items to include from the list of available items or using the "find" search feature
> Other - if desired, check the box to "Hide projects with no pending recognition", select a currency if necessary, and check the "Save this report as ..." box and name the report if you want to save it.
>If there are pending recognition transactions, the project name is hyperlinked and you can click on it to view and create recognition transactions for the project. - Fixed fee projections:
This report shows total billings or revenue recognition anticipated under the fixed fee rules. The report shows the total value of all rules; the amount used (that is, where the rules have already been run and transactions created), the percentage of the total used, and the amount remaining.
> Projections from - Select whether you want to run the report on billing or recognition rules. For recognition, both fixed fee on date or milestone and fixed fee on percent complete rules are considered.
> Configure the report layout and apply filters (including approval filters) as desired.
> Time periods - Check the box to break out future billings or recognition, by period; specify the period, number of periods and enter a date within the period the report should start from.
> "Do not move late rules to the first period": A late rule is a rule that should have run before the first period. The default behavior is to move the value of that rule to the first period. This checkbox suppresses that behavior
> An option to subtotal by client and project is provided.
