Task Types
.
Tasks types (such as hard, soft, or internal for example) are defined by the administrator for the account in the Account tab. Tasks can be distinguished according to the task type. This feature parallels the
booking type functionality of the Resources module.

To create project task types, navigate to the Account tab. From the New entries > Create dropdown, create one or more project task types.

To assign a type to a project task, in the Projects module select a project. From the “Edit tasks/phases” view, select an existing task, or create a new task. On the “Edit task” form, select a type for the project task.

The ability to view or view/modify project task types is role-based. The ability to modify project tasks (including by assigning a project task type) is also role-based. See the projects section of a particular role to enable the permissions.

Task assignments, time entries, receipts and timebills are tagged with the task type, if any, of their associated project tasks.

The task and task assignment detail reports can display and be filtered by project task type. Summary reports on project task assignments, revenue recognition transactions, timesheet hours, expenses, and charges/timebills permit filtering, subtotaling and detailing based on project task type.

In Summary and Advanced reports on resources, the percent realization and percent assigned utilization reports can be filtered and detailed according to project task type. Applying a task type filter reduces the number of hours included in the numerator. For the percent historical utilization report, both numerator and denominator have the option of being filtered by task type.
