The Custom Search Tab
.
Custom Search allows you to set specific criteria when looking for employees with particular skill sets or other attributes. The "Current Search" sub-tab calls up the "Search Criteria" dialog, which lets you filter Skills, Education, Locations, Job roles, Industries, and any custom profile types you have created. (Note: profile types will appear only if they have data and have not been disabled.) Once you have selected your filters, you can choose to save this set of criteria by checking the "Save this search as..." box (you will need to name the set of criteria you want to save). All saved criteria sets are found in a list when you click on the "Saved Searches" sub-tab.
.
Note: When you create filters for your custom search, only resources that have a match in each of the filters will be displayed in the results. For example, say you have set up a search using a filter for the locations "north" and "south," and a filter for the education profiles "high school" and "bachelor's degree." A resource whose skill profile includes "north" as a location and "high school" as an education profile will be displayed in the search results. A resource whose profile includes both "high school" and "bachelor's degree" but neither "north" or "south" will not be displayed, as the resource's profile only has a match with one of the two filters.
.
Note: Custom searches respect the User portion of the current filter set. If an "include" filter set is current, the search will return only included users, and will not include any generic resources. If an "exclude" filter set is current, the search will return any user who is not excluded as well as generic resources.
.
When the results of the custom search are displayed, you will see a "Book" link in the "Action" column for each resource listed. If you click on this link for a particular resource, the "New Booking" dialog box will appear, with the resource pre-selected, allowing you to quickly create a booking for the resource. If you used an availability filter in your search, the booking date range and the resource's time ("Book by" field) will also be pre-filled in the "New Booking" dialog box.
