The Options Tab The Options Tab is where you choose the specifics that govern your resource profiles. Resource profiles are made up of five standard profile types for skill, education, location, job role, and industry. Up to 20 additional custom profile types can also be added. For each profile type, there are several options. Active: To make a given profile type active, click the appropriate box under the "Active" heading. This will enable you to search and report against this profile type. Terminology: To customize the name of the profile type throughout the application, overwrite the default name in the "Terminology" column. Attribute set: Establish the attribute set that should be associated with this profile. For example, a skill-related profile might have an "expertise" rating (e.g. beginner, intermediate ...), associated with it, while a location-related might have a "desirability rating (low, medium, high) associated with it. Custom Attribute sets can be created. To eliminate the rating, choose "Select" from the dropdown menu. Related profile: Profile types can be related to other profile types to facilitate custom searches for resources. For example, if, for a given job role, you want to limit searchable resources to those with with specific industries in their profile, you would choose "industry" from the "Related profile" dropdown menu next to "job role." In this case, when you do a custom search, you will be asked to filter your search by industry. Then when you filter by job role, only the resources with appropriate industry experience will appear as options. Limit to one per resource: By default resources can have multiple selections within a profile type. For example, a single resource can have "project manager" and "account manager" under "job role." To limit the number of choices within a profile type to one, check the box in this column. Note: if multiple selections have already been assigned to a resource for this profile type, this option will not be available. Show only in use attributes: This limits the number of attributes to those that are actually being used so not every theoretical combination of attributes is displayed. Notify users when new types created: Users can be automatically notified when a new profile type (e.g. a new skill) is added, so they know when to update their profiles. Only users with at least one of the specified profile type will be notified. |
