Timesheets Modify | Delete A timesheet is a grid-based method for keeping track of your time in connection with specific activities, clients, and/or projects. Enter the number of hours you work in a specific, date-assigned "cell," and enter a description of your activities in the description and/or notes fields assigned to each cell. For information on company-wide timesheet settings, see Company > Settings > Timesheet options. To create a new timesheet: 1. Click on the "Timesheets" tab. 2. Click on the "Create..." drop-down menu and select "timesheet" or "timesheet from another timesheet." 3. Choose a starting date for the timesheet. 4. Name the timesheet (if desired; the default name is the date span). 5. Select default values to automatically appear for Time type, Customer:Project and/or service, if desired. 6. If you are creating a timesheet from another timesheet, choose the timesheet you want to copy and indicate how you want to treat the hours already recorded in that timesheet. If the original timesheet includes a task that has since been closed, the new timesheet will exclude the closed task. 7. Enter any desired notes. 8. Click the "Allow overlapping timesheets" if you want to be able to include the same date in more than one timesheet. 9. Click on "Create the timesheet." 10. You will see a new timesheet grid. 11. Click the "Timesheet report" link to view the time entries in customizable timesheet report format. There are links for HTML version and PDF (printable) versions. Note: Users with the role privilege "Customize forms" can modify the information that appears on all timesheets by clicking the "customize" link at the bottom of any timesheet (Timesheets > [any subtab] > [select a timesheet] > Enter time). Any changes will impact all timesheets for all users in the account. Currently, the only customization options are Message and Message Location. Example usage: create a message, placed at top or bottom of form, with codes to assist in time entry. To modify a timesheet: Note: This field allows you to change only the name of an existing timesheet. To make changes to timesheet hours or descriptions, see modifying/deleting a timesheet entry. To change a timesheet name: 1. Click on the "Timesheets" tab. 2. Click on the "All timesheets" tab. 3. Click on the timesheet whose name you want to change. 4. Click on the "Edit timesheet" link. 5. Change the name of the timesheet, and make any notes (if necessary). 6. Click on the "Save" button. 1. Click on the "Timesheets" tab. 2. Click on the "All timesheets" tab. 3. Click on the timesheet you want to delete. 4. Click on the "Edit timesheet" link. 5. Click on the "Delete" button. (Note: You can delete a timesheet only if the "Delete" button appears next to the "Save" button on the bottom of the dialog; if there is no "Delete" button, it means that the timesheet's hours have been invoiced to a client.)
