Account > Time types
(Used in Timesheets module only)

Time types describe such typical work categories as "regular time," "overtime," and "personal time."
.
To create a new Time type:
.
1. Click on the Account tab.
.
2. Click on the "Create..." drop-down menu and select "time type."
.
3. Enter the name of the new time type.
.
4. Click the "Active time type" box unless you don't want it to be used.
.
5. Click on the "Allowed in schedules" box if you want this time type to be included in the drop-down menu as a "reason" for a schedule exception when setting the company work schedule or creating a schedule request item.

6. If desired, select a "Default Customer : Project" combination. These defaults will be associated with time that is automatically added to timesheets from approved schedule requests, if the "When creating a timesheet, automatically create time entries for approved schedule requests" box is checked in the Timesheets section of My Account>Company>Settings. This feature is most useful in accounts where "Require a Customer/Project" is selected in the Timesheets section of My Account>Company>Settings.

7. Enter any desired notes and click on the "Save" button.

To modify an existing Time type:
.
1. Click on the Account tab, then on the "Time types" link.

2. Click on an existing time type in the list.
.
3. Make your changes in the "Edit-[Name of time type] dialog box. (Note: You can make changes to any of the pre-set time types on the list, as well as to the time types you create.)

4. Click on the "Save" button.

To delete an existing Time type:
.
1. Click on the Account tab, then on the "Time types" link.
.
2. In the list, click on the time type you want to delete.
.
3. Click on the "Delete" button at the bottom of the "Edit-[Name of time type] dialog to permanently discard the time type.

Note: The "Delete" button will not appear if the time type has hours assigned to it. To delete such a time type, you must first delete or reassign those hours by editing the appropriate timesheet(s).
