Accessing on-line help

When you click on the green "Help" link on the top-most modules line in any OpenAir
window, you will be taken to the help index for the module you were in when
you clicked on the "Help" link. If you want to switch to a different module's
index, you can either click on the module link on the top line of your main
screen window, and then re-click the "Help" link, or you can click on the
"Go to Module Help Index" link on the bottom of the help index page you're in.
The module help index contains links to all of the modules' on-line help
indices.

On-line help navigation buttons

With the exception of the index pages, all on-line help pages have three
buttons at the top: an "Index" button that takes you back to the module's
index page; a "Search" button that will take you to a dialog window to allow
you to search on-line help by keywords (see below); and a "Back" button that
will take you to the previously-viewed help
page. (Note: The "Back" button works on a per-session basis. If you close the on-line help
window, clicking "Back" upon re-opening the on-line help window will not
work.) Index pages have "Back" and "Search" buttons.
Help index organization

Each module help index page is organized according to the module's tabs (as they appear from left to right).
Please note, however, that individual users may be restricted from having
access to one or more tabs within a module; for example, the "Account" tab,
which is normally the left-most tab, will not appear at all unless the user
has been given specific permission to see and/or use that tab's functions.
Index links

Under each tab heading in the index are blue underlined links to specific help windows
that explain step-by-step
how to fill out, modify, delete, or otherwise use a particular
function within that tab. These links are organized according to how they appear (either
as sub-tabs or links to dialogs) from left to right on a user's screen. Again,
a user may not necessarily have access to all of a tab's sub-tabs or dialog
links, and so may not see all of these items when using OpenAir.
Links within help windows

A typical on-line help window will begin with a brief description of a feature or
dialog's purpose or overall function, and then explain (step by step)
how to create a new item, how to edit or modify an existing item, and
how to delete or deactivate an existing item. Most such pages will contain
internal links to the "Modify" and "Delete" sections at the top of the page,
and will have "up arrow" icon buttons to facilitate moving about in longer
help windows.

Cross reference links

A help window may contain blue underlined links to cross-referenced items. If
you click on a cross-referenced link, and then want to return to the previous
help window, click on the "Back" button (located at the top left of every help window,
and also at the bottom left for longer help windows). You can also use your
browser's "Back" button to return to a previously-viewed page. Note, however,
that if you've clicked on a cross-referenced link that takes you to a different
module's help, and then click on the "Index" button, you will go to the
cross-referenced link's module index, rather than to the index you started in
originally.

On-line search

On-line help also contains an internal "Search" feature. Click on the "Search"
button (located at the top right of every help window,
and also at the bottom right for longer help windows), enter a keyword
or phrase in the text field, and then click on "Search." You will see a list
of links to all on-line help pages containing the same phrase or keyword (or
even for some keyword synonyms). Click on a link to go to that
help page. If the chosen help page doesn't contain the information you need, click on your "Back" button
to return to the search results page, and select another link to try.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Each help index page has a link to Frequently Asked Questions for the module
you're in, located just above the "Go to Module Help Index" link. Clicking on
the FAQ link will take you to the list of questions for which answers are provided
in on-line help. OpenAir support adds more questions to the FAQ lists as time
permits. Just click on the relevant question to go to the question. Use your "Back"
button to return to the FAQ list, or click on the "Index" button to return to
that module's help index.
