PSA Solution to Platinum for Windows Customers
Epicor's PFW Customers Now Gain Access to an Integrated Suite of Internet Business
Services That Extends Their Existing Accounting Software to the Web
Boston (October 10, 2000) - A new alliance between OpenAir and Epicor Software Corporation will enable Epicor's
Platinum for Windows (PFW) customers to access high-quality, Web-based professional
services automation (PSA) tools. OpenAir is the recognized leader in Web-native
Internet business services including project management, time and expense tracking and
invoicing. Platinum for Windows by Epicor is an award-winning comprehensive financial
applications package, providing small- to medium-sized companies with a flexible,
easy-to-use client/server computing system.
OpenAir is seamlessly integrated with Platinum for Windows through an XML interface
via a "connector" which acts as a data pipe through which information flows between the
two systems, eliminating the need for data rekeying. Platinum for Windows customers
will have remote access to OpenAir through the Internet. Data can also be entered
into OpenAir via the Palm® Computing
platform, a WAP-enabled phone or through the OpenAir thin client, OffLine, and
uploaded into the OpenAir account with one easy mouseclick. These convenient options
eliminate data duplication and should allow PFW users to record data more accurately,
thereby increasing their efficiency and saving them time and money.
As part of the partnership, OpenAir will be distributed via PFW resellers who can
offer the connector and OpenAir monthly subscriptions.
